ASSOCIATE PARK AND RECREATION SPECIALIST/(LIMITED TERM) – ORANGE COAST DISTRICT / PUBLIC SAFETY SECTOR / CRYSTAL COVE STATE PARK

The reporting location for this position is Crystal Cove State Park in Laguna Beach, CA. This position will work under the supervision of State Park Peace Officer II (Lifeguard).   

The Associate Park and Recreations Specialist will coordinate the Special Events Program for Crystal Cove State Park and additionally,  will be responsible for maintaining the Districtwide film coordination effort, with direct answer to the Director's Office and the California Film Commission. This is a fast-paced, multi-faceted position that requires attention to detail. This position is required to work in the Sector Office and outdoors within the District's Park Units, as well as work weekends and holidays as needed. This position offers many opportunities for the self-motivated person and offers an excellent opportunity to oversee many facets that will make a lasting impact within a dynamic District.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position is a 12-month Limited-Term position that may be extended and/or become permanent.

This position is designated as telework eligible-office centered.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

If selected for the position transcripts will be required prior to appointment.
