Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated accountant to join our team in a key role within the property management industry. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work with advanced financial systems, manage payments, handle bank reconciliations, and maintain clear communication with property owners, vendors, and tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash Flow and Bank Reconciliation: Review bank transactions, perform reconciliations, and assist in collecting invoices to maintain smooth financial operations.
Vendor Payments and Invoice Management: Process invoices, calculate property costs, enter data into Buildium, and ensure timely payments to contractors and suppliers.
Utility and Recurring Payments: Manage and track payments for utilities such as water, electricity, property taxes, and ensure that accurate billing is sent to property owners.
Vendor Management and Compliance: Add new vendors, collect necessary forms (e.g., 1099), and ensure adherence to tax and accounting regulations.
Tenant Deposit Handling: Monitor tenant deposits, track refunds, and manage credits according to lease agreements.
Lease Contract Monitoring and Collections: Track tenant charges, late fees, and outstanding debts, and communicate updates with property owners.
Monthly Financial Reporting: Generate and distribute detailed financial statements to property owners each month.
Collaboration with CPA: Work closely with the CPA to provide accurate financial reports and supporting documentation.
Document Management and Approvals: Manage the signing and approval of financial agreements, service contracts, and property-related documents.
Financial Anomaly Reporting: Identify discrepancies and take necessary steps to resolve financial issues.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within property management or real estate.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Buildium - essential.
Strong experience in bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
Knowledge of vendor accounts, tenant payments, and collections.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Proficient in English, including reading, writing, and professional communication.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Familiarity with financial software and digital systems is a plus.
