POSITION SUMMARY:

The Escrow Reconciliation Specialist will assist with a variety of customer service and administrative duties related to receiving and reviewing agents’ escrow account reconciliations and reviewing their accounting records. The Escrow Reconciliation Specialist will be required to assist with printing, preparing, and filing the reconciliations received for review. The position will include completing reconciliations of bank accounts on various real estate software systems. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor reconciliation email inbox for reconciliations received, and print and prepare the reconciliations received for review.
  • An understanding of how to review escrow accounting records and input the required data into our tracking systems and databases.
  • Communicating with clients, including requesting missing information related to the reconciliations.
  • Reconciling the internal divisions and/or agent’s escrow accounting software to their bank statements and creating finalized reconciliation reports.
  • Handle emails and phone calls at a fast pace with the utmost customer service.
  • As a Reconciliation Specialist, you must be highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume volume and deadline-oriented environment. It is also important that you have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to deliver superior customer service. Specific qualifications for the position include:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Bookkeeping or banking experience is a required.
    • Familiarity with escrow accounting software is recommended.
    • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, demonstrate strong follow-through, and follow departmental procedures.
    • Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
    • Ability to comprehend and write instructions, correspondence, and memos using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
    • Must be a people person and have excellent customer service skills in email, on the phone, and in person.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bookkeeping or accounting clerk experience is required.
  • Strong customer service/communication, and organization skills. 
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic knowledge of accounting or banking.

 

EDUCATION, FORMAL TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in clerical accounting.
  • Knowledge of accounting software.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.

 
REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
