What You'll Be Doing

As a Loan Officer at Bank Iowa, you will specialize in generating quality Ag and/or Commercial loans as well as building full relationships with clients that include referrals for other Bank products and services in our new Clear Lake location. This role plays a pivotal part in growing and maintaining the bank's portfolio and will make efforts to be a part of and improve the community.

  • Manages an agriculture and/or commercial loan portfolio. Builds and maintains strong relationships with ag and/or commercial clients, fostering business growth and client retention within the North Iowa Region.
  • Oversees ag and/or commercial lending activities including loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Manages an ag and/or commercial loan portfolio with total outstanding balance of $25+ million and manage 25-50 client relationships.
  • Meets with clients to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process. Works with clients to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals.
  • Develops relationships with various community and professional organizations to further enhance the bank's image and develop additional business or promote additional bank services.
  • Approves loans within specified limits and refers loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
Requirements:

Skills/Experience You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Finance, Economics, or related field with relevant work experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Strong Agriculture background preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years lending and banking experience as an Ag and/or Commercial Loan Officer.
  • Ideal candidates will have leadership experience as well as banking experience, credit analysis or underwriting experience, and/or proven sales experience.
