Job Description

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM - 25 hours per week.  The basic function of the Nutrition Center Coordinator is to be responsible for the day-to-day operation of meal site and supervision of volunteers.

Responsibilities:

• Take reservations, order meals and supplies, monitor site meal waste daily.
• Maintain accurate record keeping system for the meal site and submit routine paperwork in a timely fashion.
• Recruit, train, oversee, recognize and schedule the duties of paid drivers, volunteers and Project Council members.
• Perform all duties related to safety and cleanliness of meal site and assure that all site helpadhere to the regulations regarding safe food handling.
• Monitor participants’ comments on the program and coordinate annual food survey. Check on Meals on Wheels clients as necessary and perform community outreach.
• Maintain appropriate contact with the nutrition office staff and his/her supervisor to report problems, incidents, caterer errors, poor temperatures, etc.
• Recruit and train sufficient substitutes, schedule coverage and be available to substitute at another site if necessary.
• Attend staff meetings and accept supervisor’s directions and training.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, Tri-Valley staff members and thepublic; and maintain a good working relationship with personnel at site host agency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

  Essential Functions/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Organizational and time management skills
• Communication Skills with consumers, employees, family members, caterers (telephone, email or in person, as needed).
• Coordinate schedules and assignments for volunteers.
• Arithmetic computations.
• Outreach and educational services.
• Written communication skills.
• Meet deadlines in a timely fashion.
• Ability to collect donations and make bank deposits.
• Problem solving skills.
• Works as a member of a team.
• Motor vehicle.
• Valid Driver’s license; maintain minimum insurance liability on vehicle and complete motor vehicle driving record check.
• Accurate record keeping skills.
• Maintain Confidentiality.
• Attention to detail.
• Capable of learning delivery routes and training volunteer drivers.
• Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:

• Computer access.
• Frequent Standing and walking.
• Must be able to carry or push items up to 40 pounds

Work Environment:

• Occasional Driving, along with delivery of meals, to consumers at their homes.
