Express Employment Professionals is looking to grow the Skilled Trades Division in the Ottawa IL office and is looking to add a Skilled Trades Recruiter to the team! We are looking for someone who is eager, fearless, and outgoing! No experience needed, just a hungry, go get em attitude!

Express Employment Ottawa is a locally owned staffing agency connecting job seekers with over 80 local employers. They help place more than 200 people to work each week in a variety of industries.

Pay:

• $19.00/HR to $22.00/HR

• PTO – You’ll earn (15) days in your first year of employment, at an accrual rate of (5) hours per pay period. Any time accrued over 80 hours at the end of the calendar year will be paid out. (only 2 weeks, 80 hours may carry over into the new year). Additional excused absences and bonus days are highlighted in your Employee Handbook.

• Paid Holidays. New Year’s, Christmas Day, Memorial Day, 4 th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, one floating holiday and one Anniversary Day per year and your birthday.

Schedule:

• Office open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm - must be open to working occasional Saturdays once a month for four hours

Job Dutuies/ Requirements:

• Recruit, screen, and interview candidates for skilled trades roles including machinists, welders, maintenance techs, CNC operators, and more.

• Match qualified candidates to client job openings based on skill set, experience, and cultural fit.

• Develop and maintain relationships with 80+ local employers in industrial and manufacturing sectors.

• Write and post job openings on job boards, social media, and internal platforms to attract top talent.

• Perform reference checks, 5-panel drug screens, skills assessments, and verify required certifications or licenses.

• Maintain accurate candidate and client records using applicant tracking and CRM systems.

• Conduct site visits to understand job duties, working conditions, and client expectations.

• Provide workforce consultation to clients, including hiring trends, wage benchmarks, and retention strategies.

• Conduct performance check-ins with associates and resolve placement or performance issues promptly.

• Proactively call on prospects and inactive clients to generate new business and re-engage lost accounts.

• Build and manage a sales pipeline , schedule meetings, and present Express services to potential partners.

• Track weekly metrics related to sales calls, client visits, job orders filled, and placements made.

• Represent Express at job fairs, trade schools, and community events to build candidate pipelines and brand visibility.
