GPD is currently seeking an Entry-Level Architectural Designer for our Akron, OH office location to support the Federal practice.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

  • Architectural Designer with 2-5 years of experience in a supporting architectural design role on projects throughout all phases on the project. Co-op experience acceptable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Master’s degree in Architecture preferred.
  • Experience in development of design documents through schematic design, design development, developing construction documents and specifications, and supporting projects through construction administration.
  • Experience in a variety of project types preferred but not required.
  • Revit/BIM experience required.
  • Experienced and comfortable working directly with the project architect to provide timely updates on project status, discussing project scope, coordinating with other design disciplines.
  • Ability to work within a team environment working with individuals from various offices and in various disciplines.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, professional writing skills and the ability to multi-task between several projects and priorities at one time.
  • Candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Architectural design and documentation of various project types responsibilities include supporting the project architect with code research, programming, design, documentation, specifications, and construction administration including field visits to projects.
  • May be required to research agency standards and requirements for design compliance.
  • Researching design solutions and industry best practices.
  • Coordination with all disciplines of design including our in house engineers, designers, and renderers.
  • Building Assessments and Building Surveys
  • Project documentation/administration.
  • Construction administration.
